The boss of Tesla aims to practice a low price when marketing its humanoid robot. A machine that should be manufactured in millions of units, according to the leader. To give the public an idea of this invention, the company has revealed models with visible chips and cables.
The number of automakers showing interest in robotics is growing. Ford has teamed up with Agility Robotics, which produces a bipedal robot. Hyundai has bought Boston Dynamics, whose machines are famous on the Internet. Tesla declared at the Tesla AI Day 2021 that it wanted to create a robot with a human form.

Optimus is destined to transform civilization
Tesla’s robot will be called Optimus. It has hands with opposable thumbs. Thanks to this constitution, the invention is able to perform several tasks. However, the bipedal robots prove to be less stable and more difficult to move compared to the quadruped variants.
The American firm intends to build millions of copies of Optimus in the future. Its goal is to transform civilization. The boss of Tesla, Elon Musk, had exposed last year that the android will be able to replace the humans on the iterative tasks . During the Tesla AI Day 2022, the multinational company projected a video showing Optimus :

On September 30, during its annual event, the company unveiled two Optimus prototypes. The first one, named Bumble C, walked on stage slowly. Then, he raised his arms to wave to the audience with his hand. A Tesla mechanical engineer said:

The second prototype of Optimus which is close to the serial version, is more sophisticated. It is not able to walk and was brought on stage on wheels by collaborators. This version, however, has fewer visible cables.
Elon Musk admitted that other companies have invented more advanced robots . He nevertheless stressed that they are brainless and :
